Not too long ago, Gevlon Goblin created an Eve Online forum thread calling for volunteers to create a new alliance for the sole purpose of declaring war against Goonswarm forever. While it was met with much ridicule from Goons and shot-in-the-dark scam attempts by others, that would be expected of course.
Around page 5, he announced that he has selected the Marmite leader Tora Bushido to do the task while Gevlon funds the actual war. In his blog, Gevlon has already written a number of posts discussing his views, hopes, and success so far with this new project.
While many sigh, if there is continued success of this new venture, I suspect that numbers will quickly swell the ranks of the newest anti-CFC alliance. More importantly, this could spawn a movement of rich highsec residents funding not only Darwins Lemmings, but many other groups who have similar goals.
In fact, that is why this blog was created. I, Admiral Grr, funded by anonymous wealthy highsec dweller, am going to start my very own grr Goons alliance. And you guessed it... begin a permanent wardec against the Goonswarm Federation.
This exciting new project is still in the very early stages, so many exact details still have yet to be ironed out. For instance, while I know for certain I will start with just one alliance to wardec, I have not yet decided whether the initial forever war target will be GSF itself, their rental alliance, or some other group within their coalition. The goal would be to keep adding all of their alliances into perpetual war until each either leaves the CFC or is effectively defeated.
We still have yet to see how things will unfold over at the Lemmings group, so it's nearly impossible to say at this time exactly how my alliance will differ, especially since the Lemmings are led by a friend with a similar general background as my main. Most likely we will share similar objectives and targets but simply provide different choices for alliance and corporation structure, expectations, and the like.
In any case, the coming months look to be full of fun times for all! What kind of suggestions do you have for my new anti-Goon alliance?
